Located at "The Gateway to Lake of the Ozarks", Henley Jewelers has been a cornerstone of Eldon, Missouri's business district for over 65 years. Here at our family owned and operated business we pride ourselves in providing superior quality and value in fine jewelry and gifts.  We take great delight in helping our customers mark those special occasions with an heirloom quality gift they can be proud to give. 

How it All Began

After World War II, returning veterans were given aptitude tests. When our founder, Norman Henley, scored high in the field of watchmaking, he went to school to learn the craft in Kansas City. After an apprenticeship in California, Missouri, he moved his young family to Eldon, and Henley Jewelers was born.
 

Norman’s success was due to his strong work ethic and to his honesty and friendliness. In addition to his watch skills, he had good business sense.

In the early years, the first location of the store shared an alley with a factory.  On Fridays, payday at the factory, Norman would open the back door as the factory closed for the day. The women workers would come in through Henley’s back door excited to buy a new piece of costume jewelry. We've come a long way since then! Today's stock is not the costume jewelry of those days, but diamonds, gold, precious stones and fine jewelry.
 

Norris joined his father's  business in 1969 when he returned from his own active army duty.  With the help of the GI Bill, Norris completed intensive correspondence courses with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to learn about diamonds, gemstones and gem identification.  Norris also learned watchmaking skills from his father and Herb Kidwell, the other watchmaker at the firm.

Norris's brother Donn joined the business in 1986 bringing his creative, artistic abilities to the successful store.  

Henley's Today

Today you'll almost always find Dianne smiling behind the counter at the store.  She began helping out a couple of days a week while her children were very young, but little by little, over the years, her presence at the store was needed as well.
